Midleton Single Cask 1997 59.5% Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey 70cl

Description

This whiskey was distilled and laid down in Midleton Distillery in October, 1997. As is the age of old tradition of crafting Irish Pot Still Whiskey in Midleton, this whiskey has been distilled in large copper pot stills from a mash of both Malted and Unmalted Irish barley. The distillate, one of the numerous pot still distillate styles produced at the Midleton Distillery, is categorised as one of the lighter variants. This lighter Pot Still style allows the subtleties of both the distillate and its maturation to be fully appreciated. In creating this edition of Midleton Single Pot Still Whiskey, one first fill American bourbon barrel was selected from Midleton Warehouse No. M12A by the Master Distiller. The whiskey was filtered to remove wood char prior to being bottled at cask strenght – 59.5% ABV. No chill filtration was used.
